Udaipur : Reputed Spanish coach Gerard Nus, who has previously worked with footballing legends like Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, among others, interacted with the Zinc Football players today.
During the interaction, the former NorthEast United FC coach applauded the state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities at Zinc Football and urged the young footballers to make the most out of it. Gerard mostly highlighted the important attributes for a young footballer to reach their desired goal. Passion, hunger and the desire to train more and more is what differentiates one player from the other, he said.
Underlining his experiences over the years, Gerard further said: “While it is okay to lose at times, it is more important to take the defeats in a constructive way and build yourself from it rather than repenting over the same. One can come up with different excuses to give up, but a player should always learn from his mistakes and work on them with the help of his coach or mentor.”
He added: “Initiatives like Zinc Football that are solely concentrating on development at the grassroots level will surely help Indian Football going forward. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities at Zinc Football are very impressive and the young players should feel privileged and take this as an opportunity to achieve their desired goals.”
Having worked in various countries under different conditions, the experienced coach also acclaimed the energy and love for football in the young generation of India and believes that the country is going in the right direction with initiatives like Zinc Football.
