Patna, May 17: Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament from Purnia, has launched a verbal attack on both the central and state governments regarding the ongoing issue of exam paper leaks. He claimed that in the past 14 years, there have been 123 reported instances of exam paper leaks, and the government has failed to prevent even a single case. Yadav questioned how a government that cannot safeguard students’ futures can effectively lead the country.
He stated that approximately 12.7 million students have had their futures jeopardized due to these leaks, which have also dashed the hopes of their families. Yadav emphasized that the most significant impact is felt by students from middle and lower-income backgrounds, while children from economically privileged families often benefit from such situations. He raised concerns about the government’s ability to conduct examinations properly, suggesting that it raises serious doubts about their overall efficiency.
Additionally, Yadav expressed his worries regarding the recent death of a student preparing for the NEET exam. He proposed the establishment of a committee to oversee hostel conditions and urged the government to implement clear guidelines. He recommended setting standards for female student hostels and ensuring transparency in the entire process, including parental involvement. Furthermore, he suggested forming a committee led by a retired judge to periodically review hostel conditions and make CCTV and other security measures mandatory.
In response to comments made by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, regarding the appointment of Samrat Chaudhary as Chief Minister, Yadav noted that Chaudhary has already distanced himself from the BJP and has claimed to be the political successor of Nitish Kumar. He asserted that Samrat Chaudhary is not merely a BJP figure but rather the Chief Minister of the NDA, indicating that there is little need for further debate on the matter.
