Pakistani’s evacuation touches many hearts

New Delhi, March 9 : A Pakistani student from Ukraine on Wednesday thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Embassy in Kyiv for helping her evacuation from the war-ravaged country. In a video uploaded by the Press Information Bureau, Asma Shafique thanked the Indian Embassy and Modi for providing her support. She said she hoped to “get home safely because of the Indian Embassy”. The Pakistani medical student will soon be re ted with the family, official sources said. The gesture by the Indian authorities has touched many hearts. “Humanity triumphs over everything else,” a user wrote on Twitter. Some called it an example of “humanity beyond borders”. “Extraordinarily phenomenal, Awesome and inspiring,” another wrote on Twitter. India has evacuated several citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal and T sia from Ukraine. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked Modi for evacuating nine Bangladeshis from Ukraine. India on Tuesday said that about 18,000 Indians citizens stranded in Ukraine have been brought back to India by special flights. ASU MR
