Islamanbad, April 7 : The Pakistan Supreme Court on Thursday reserved its verdict on the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri’s rejection of the no-trust move against Prime Minister Imran Khan. The court will deliver its verdict by 7.30pm. Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial observed that the ruling on no-confidence motion by Suri was in violation of the Constitution. Bandilal said that Suri’s ruling was, prima facie, a violation of Article 95, as the apex court resumed deliberation over the “unconstitutional” act by Suri for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday, Geo News reported. A five-member larger bench — headed by Justice Bandial and comprising Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Aijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhe was hearing the case. The verdict will now be announced at 7 pm (India time). On Sunday, Suri had discontinued the NA session deeming the no-trust vote as “unconstitutional”. On March 28, Leader of Opposition had tabled the motion against Khan after numbers in the opposition camp swelled as Imran Khan’s party PTI’s allies kept deserting the ruling party ahead of the scheduled trust vote.
