Coimbatore, Mar 20 : More than 8,000 chickens were charred to death in a major fire at a poultry farm at Annur in this Textile city of Tamil Nadu last night. The fire spread fast and engulfed the entire farm due to gusty winds. Police and fire service personnel battled hard for more than two hours to bring the fire under control. Police have registered a case and are investigating to ascertain the case of the fire. GV 1420
