Agartala, May 15: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Thursday that teachers must work with a sense of responsibility and open doors to knowledge for students through effective and modern teaching methods.
While distributing appointment letters for postgraduate teacher positions, the Chief Minister emphasized the crucial role teachers play in shaping future generations. He expressed pride when students excel in exams and become responsible citizens.
Highlighting the need for quality education in line with changing times, Saha stressed the importance of integrating technology into the teaching process alongside textbook-based education.
The School Education Department organized an event at Rabindra Shatabdi Bhawan to distribute appointment letters to postgraduate teachers. A total of 865 postgraduate teachers received their appointment letters, with the Chief Minister personally handing letters to 34 newly appointed teachers.
Addressing the gathering, Saha, who also oversees the education department, mentioned that the state government is continuously working to fill vacant positions across various departments as quickly as possible.
He noted that in addition to filling vacancies, the government is creating new positions in various departments to provide transparent employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth. Currently, no recommendations are needed to secure a government job, as appointments are made solely based on merit and experience.
The Chief Minister claimed that educated unemployed youth in the state are now receiving recognition for their talent and hard work due to the government’s fully transparent recruitment policy.
He stated that just as the state government is developing infrastructure with proper planning and transparency, the recruitment process is being conducted similarly.
Saha further mentioned that the government’s goal is to earn the public’s trust through transparent governance and citizen-friendly initiatives. Teachers should understand students’ mindsets and psychology, maintain good relationships with them, and ensure effective teaching in classrooms.
He added that the government is regularly recruiting teachers for schools across the state, alongside developing educational infrastructure. Since 2018, a total of 7,104 teachers have been recruited through a transparent recruitment process under the School Education Department.
