
Jamnagar, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : In Jamnagar, Gujarat, the Ayurveda Teaching and Research Institute (ITRA) is celebrating the 11th Ayurveda Day by hosting a month-long series of public awareness, healthcare, research, and scientific activities. These initiatives focus on Ayurveda, healthy lifestyles, nutrition, preventive healthcare, and scientific research.
Under the guidance of Prataprao Jadhav, the Minister of State for AYUSH, and Padmashree Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the Secretary of the AYUSH Ministry, ITRA Director Professor Dr. Tanuja Nesari has spearheaded these efforts.
The programs include health check-up camps, nutrition awareness sessions, medical camps, health services for senior citizens, activities in schools and anganwadis, medicinal plant planting, scientific training, research presentations, and workshops. These events have taken place in schools, old age homes, girls’ homes, educational institutions, armed forces establishments, and industrial areas.
So far, at least 2,577 individuals have participated in these activities. From September 7 to 22, health awareness programs were conducted at establishments of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and CISF, as well as in educational institutions and women’s organizations. Additionally, street plays were organized in 11 public locations to raise awareness about Ayurvedic diets.
ITRA has also conducted scientific and academic activities, including research presentations, laboratory quality control training, QXcell Connect demonstrations and training, microbiome workshops, and a webinar on Kayaprabodhini.
For the youth, competitions such as “Ancient Staple, Modern Plate” reel contest, Youth Parliament, Student Ambassador Program, national essay and e-poster contests, a Run for Ayurveda, a Master Chef cooking competition, and a seminar on new media and digital communication in Ayurveda have been organized.
Professor Dr. Tanuja Nesari emphasized that the Ayurveda Day campaign brings together health, nutrition, research, education, environment, and youth participation. The goal is to promote Ayurveda as a holistic and preventive approach to health.
