Oppositions Resistance to Womens Rights Criticized by Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi, April 18: The political atmosphere heated up after the Women’s Reservation Bill failed to pass in the Lok Sabha on Friday. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a sharp attack on the opposition, holding them responsible for the bill’s failure.

He stated that the Congress party and its allies are most pained by the rights granted to women.

In a response shared on the social media platform ‘X’, Pradhan emphasized that the opposition’s greatest objection lies with women’s empowerment. He accused them of evading critical issues by hiding behind topics like delimitation. According to him, by opposing this bill in Parliament, the opposition has once again revealed its mindset to the nation.

Pradhan also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming he engages in divisive politics under the guise of women’s rights, OBC issues, and regional divides. He alleged that Congress has consistently distorted facts for its political gain. He referenced former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, noting that during her tenure, the delimitation process was manipulated to serve her interests, alongside measures like the Emergency.

The minister asserted that the bills introduced by the Modi government aim to empower women and serve the nation’s interests. However, the opposition’s attitude clearly indicates their resistance to these efforts. He concluded by stating that the stance of opposition parties is against women’s interests, which the nation’s women are well aware of.
