Beijing, October 12 (Udaipur Kiran) — Smartphone brand OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 15, later this month in China. The company has confirmed that the device will debut with the world’s first 165Hz OLED display, developed in collaboration with display manufacturer BOE.
According to OnePlus President Li Jie Louis, the OnePlus 15 will use BOE’s third-generation Oriental Screen, which is being described as the most advanced smartphone display to date. The technology will be officially showcased at BOE’s Flexible OLED Flagship Launch Event in Shenzhen on October 14.
Industry-First 165Hz OLED Display
The OnePlus 15’s display, expected to be a 6.78-inch BOE X3 OLED panel, will offer 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz ultra-refresh rate, marking the start of a new era in smartphone display technology.
BOE and OnePlus claim that the new panel achieves eight technological breakthroughs and sets nine global records in performance. The screen focuses on four major innovations — smoothness, image quality, dark environment clarity, and eye protection.
Notably, it will be the first Android display to support true hardware-level 1-nit brightness, enhancing visibility in dark environments. It will also feature TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 5.0 Gold certification, ensuring reduced eye strain during prolonged use.
Redefining Display Standards
Since introducing the OnePlus 7 Pro in 2019 with its 90Hz display, OnePlus has been a pioneer in pushing smartphone refresh rate technology — later advancing to 120Hz panels and now setting a new benchmark with 165Hz.
With the OnePlus 15, the company aims to once again redefine flagship display standards, setting a new industry precedent for visual performance and user comfort.
