OnePlus 10 Pro Receives Stable OxygenOS 16 Update with AI and Performance Boosts

In an unexpected update, OnePlus has released a stable OxygenOS 16 update for the OnePlus 10 Pro, its flagship model from 2022. Originally launched with Android 12 and promised three major Android upgrades, the device’s software support was expected to conclude with Android 15 last year. This new update indicates an extension of its software lifecycle beyond the initial commitment.

The update focuses on performance enhancements powered by the Trinity Engine, which optimizes resource use during gaming, video recording, and camera operations. The power saving mode now dynamically adjusts based on battery levels, improving efficiency. Additionally, photo albums open faster with reduced power consumption.

AI features are integrated throughout key applications. The Photos app now includes video editing tools such as splitting, merging, speed adjustments, and background music. The Notes app introduces block editing mode for batch formatting and text highlighting. The redesigned Recorder app offers automatic title generation, noise cancellation, and context detection for recordings like meetings or lectures.

Visual improvements include new “Flux” home screen icons styled with light field effects, resizable icon grids, and customizable folder layouts. The system introduces the “One Serif” font to enhance readability and displays real-time weather visuals through the Luminous Rendering Engine. Lock screens can now show custom text and configurable shortcuts.

System animations have been refined with smoother app transitions, improved drag-and-drop interactions, fluid text selection magnifiers, and enhanced scrolling mechanics. Parallel processing ensures animations start and end logically during user interactions.

Connectivity upgrades feature My Devices widgets for better management of linked gadgets, improved Bluetooth pairing with cars, and AI-powered LinkBoost for stable app connectivity. The Quick Settings panel now supports 2×1 tiles with greater customization options.

Privacy enhancements allow users to lock or hide apps directly from home screen icons. The redesigned sharing panel offers quicker access to contacts and customizable app links. Data migration from iOS devices is now faster and more reliable.
