Bijapur, 18 August (Kiran News): One District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan was martyred and three others injured in an IED blast triggered by Naxals in Bhopalpatnam, Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

According to police, the DRG team had gone out on an anti-Naxal operation on Sunday. During the search operation, a pressure IED planted by Naxals exploded on Monday morning in the forests of Ullur near Bhopalpatnam, resulting in the martyrdom of DRG jawan Dinesh Nag from Bijapur. Three other jawans were injured in the incident and have been admitted to hospital.
Bastar IG Sundarraj P. confirmed the incident, identifying the injured as Bharat Dheewar, Paiku Inla, and Mundaru Ram Kawasi. The condition of the injured jawans is said to be out of danger. He further informed that the martyred jawan Dinesh Nag was a resident of Ward No. 15 in Bijapur. After the incident, security forces intensified the search operation in the area.
