One CRPF jawan killed, dozen injured as bus overturns

Sonbhadra (UP), March 5 : One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed and nearly a dozen were injured when a bus overturned in Markundi Ghat in the district. Police sources said on Saturday that the incident occurred late on Friday night when the bus ferrying 37 CRPF jawans from Sonbhadra to Obra for poll duty overturned in a pit. On getting the information District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police reached the operation and a rescue operation was launched, it said. The injured were taken to the district hospital where doctors declared jawan Krishna Beer Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, dead after a medical examination. “Two jawans M M Baig (45) and T Balakrishnan (35), who sustained serious injuries, have been referred to Varanasi,” police said. Other jawans including Vijesh Rathore (37), K Chandraya (32), S S Naik (40), Jai Prasad (40), Srinivas Rao (51), Suresh (33), Indrajit (32), S Gauda (50), Rajneesh (35) and Arun Kumar (30) were being treated at the district hospital.
