Noida : Four construction workers were crushed as a portion of the boundary wall of a residential society in Noida fell this morning. At Jal Vayu Vihar, a big housing complex in Noida’s Sector 21, bulldozers were used to evacuate 12 workers who were buried under the debris. Rescue and relief efforts have begun. Firefighters and policemen, including senior officers, are on the spot,” a police officer stated.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, has offered his sympathies. When he learned of the wall collapse, he directed top officials to rush to the spot and begin rescue efforts on a war footing, according to a tweet from his office.
The Chief Minister has also asked officials to ensure that those injured in the tragedy receive sufficient care. Suhas LY, the district magistrate, arrived to the spot following the tragedy. A rescue operation is now underway. The identities of the injured are being gathered. As a precaution, the area is being searched. All teams are present,” Suhas LY said.
According to the district magistrate, the Noida development authority awarded a contract to repair the drainage system near the apartment complex. The wall fell, according to reports, as labourers were hauling out bricks. It will be probed, he stated. Images from the spot showed rescue workers and policemen attempting to clear the rubble in order to free the trapped workers.
