Patna, April 18 : Actor Shatrughan Sinha was recently elected to the Lok Sabha from Asansol in West Bengal, but Chief Minister Nitish Kumar refused to call him “Bengali Babu”, saying all should be called “Hindustani Babu”. Kumar responding to a query of media persons that Shatrughan Sinha had now emerged as “Bengali Babu” after winning Lok Sabha elections from Asansol in West Bengal, asked what Bengali Babu or Bihari Babu. All should become ‘Hindustani Babu’ instead, he added. “What is difficulty in all becoming Hindustani Babu. It is good”, Chief Minister suggested even as Shatrughan Sinha had been feeling proud for being addressed as Bihari Babu. After winning Lok Sabha elections from Asansol in West Bengal, there would be new identity for him as earlier he had always been proclaiming himself to be ‘Bihari Babu’. As it is, Shatrughan Sinha had contested the last Lok Sabha elections from Patna Sahib after being denied a ticket by BJP. Sinha who had been BJP MP from Patna Sahib till 2019 was denied a ticket by the party for his repeated criticism of the Narendra Modi government. Sinha also affectionately called “Shotgun” had lost to Ravi Shankar Prasad of BJP when contested on Congress ticket from Patna Sahib in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. KKS ARN
