Mumbai, April 14: In response to Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Chief Minister of Bihar, NCP (SP) leader Naseem Siddiqui stated that a personality like Kumar will be lost in the shadows of Delhi. Speaking in Mumbai, he remarked that Kumar is reaping what he has sown. If Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu had made the right decisions two years ago, Kumar could have been the Deputy Prime Minister of India today.
Siddiqui expressed concern over Kumar’s current situation, saying he is neither here nor there, and will fade away in the darkness of Delhi. He accused the BJP of executing their political maneuvers effectively, leading to Kumar’s loss of power in Bihar.
Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Siddiqui claimed that Shah’s position has become precarious, akin to a cat closing its eyes while drinking milk. He accused Shah of blatant dishonesty, asserting that he knows Gyanesh Kumar is acting as his agent within the Election Commission. Siddiqui alleged that the Election Commission has been compromised, stating that the Supreme Court has already labeled the CBI as a “parrot.” He claimed the Election Commission now operates under the directives of the Home Ministry rather than the Supreme Court.
Siddiqui emphasized that in democracies worldwide, voters are encouraged and new voters are created. He recalled how Rajiv Gandhi lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 to include youth in the electoral process. However, he criticized the Modi government for allegedly reducing the number of voters by millions, stating that instead of enhancing democracy, efforts are being made to diminish it. He described the elections as a puppet show, manipulated by the government, where the names of dissenting voters are being removed from the voter lists.
On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Siddiqui highlighted the significance of this day for India’s Constitution and freedom. He expressed pride in having a figure like Ambedkar, who crafted one of the world’s finest constitutions.
Challenging the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Siddiqui referenced Ambedkar’s assertion that India is a land of multiple religions and castes, where everyone is granted religious freedom. He accused the BJP of attempting to instill fear among Muslims under the guise of UCC. He challenged the BJP to unite the 85% majority community, including the Bahujan Samaj, upper castes, and Dalits, and if they succeed, he would urge Muslims to accept the UCC.
Addressing women’s safety, Siddiqui lamented that women in India are not safe. He cited various incidents, including the Unnao rape case and attacks on medal-winning daughters from Haryana, as evidence of the ongoing crisis. He pointed out that such incidents, including the Nirbhaya case, occurred during the current regime, highlighting the alarming state of women’s safety in the country.
