Nitish appeals for alertness against Corona

Patna, Apr 11 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that number of Corona positive cases in some states had started rising again and there is still the need to remain alert against any possibility of spreading Covid19 infections. Kumar during an interaction with media persons after “Janata Darbar” organised at CM secretariat premises, said that the state government was still alert to check any possibility of spreading Coronavirus infection in Bihar, taking into consideration of the fact that number of Corona positive cases had started rising again in some states. Number of testings per 10 lakh population to detect Corona positive cases was higher than the national average, he added. ” I personally keep close vigil on status of Corona pendemic in Bihar”, Chief Minister said, adding that the large number of testings was still being conducted to detect new Corona positive cases in various parts of Bihar. Less number of testings were being conducted in Patna but it had now been increased on his instructions, he added. Kumar said that his government had decided in April 2020 to give ex gratia amount of Rs 4 lakhs each to kins of those who died due to Corona infections. On guidelines of the Centre, an additional amount of Rs 50,000 was also being given to family members of those who died due to Corona infections, he added. Chief Minister said that he had already issued instructions to authorities concerned to ensure that no one should be left out from the benefits of financial assistance being given to family members of Corona deceased. List of persons who died due to Corona infection was being constantly updated and financial assistance was being given to their family members, he added. Kumar said that arrangements for proper treatment of Corona positive cases had been made in government hospitals in Bihar. Those feeling any complications and symptoms of Corona infections should immediately get treated in hospitals, he added. KKS ARN
