Kolkata, April 26: Nitin Naveen, the National President of the BJP, has sharply criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “part-time politician.” Naveen stated that Gandhi only speaks during elections and is not taken seriously by the public.
During a roadshow in Shantipur on Sunday, Naveen addressed the upcoming Bengal elections, where a large crowd gathered to support him. He indicated that this event marks the end of the Trinamool Congress’s misgovernance.
In an interview, Naveen responded to Gandhi’s claims that democracy is absent in Bengal and that a reign of terror prevails under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He asserted that the BJP is poised to gain ground due to the discontent with Banerjee’s administration.
“Just wait and see; in a few days, Rahul Gandhi will be seen sitting with Mamata Banerjee,” Naveen remarked. He emphasized that the opposition alliance is crumbling and that Banerjee has caused significant distress to the people of Bengal. He criticized Gandhi for only speaking out during elections, noting that he has never protested against Banerjee’s misrule. “Rahul Gandhi is a part-time politician, and his words mean nothing to the people of Bengal,” Naveen added.
Discussing the second phase of voting, Naveen claimed that chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Vande Mataram” can be heard from every household in Bengal. He expressed confidence that on April 29, voters will take to the streets to support the BJP.
Naveen stated that the voting on April 29 will break all previous records. He believes that the results from the EVMs will shine a new light on Bengal’s development. “I am convinced that on April 29, people will come out in large numbers to vote for the BJP at every booth,” he said.
According to Naveen, there is a growing enthusiasm among the people for the BJP, indicating that a BJP government is on the horizon, and the public is ready to dismiss the TMC government.
