Patna, March 5: The political landscape in Bihar is buzzing with speculation regarding Nishant Kumar’s entry into the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)]. This follows Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent announcement that he will be leaving Bihar to join the Rajya Sabha.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Nitish Kumar informed the public that his decision to move to the Rajya Sabha was voluntary, and he has already submitted his nomination. This has led to questions about whether Nishant Kumar will join the JD(U) and if he is poised to become the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. Amidst these inquiries, JD(U) workers have expressed significant discontent regarding Nitish Kumar’s decision to leave the state, viewing it as a betrayal to the people. They assert that Nitish Kumar is their leader, and they will not allow him to depart from Bihar.
Minister Shravan Kumar spoke to a news agency, stating, “CM Nitish Kumar is our highly respected leader. He is the national president of JD(U) and the popular Chief Minister of the state. Whenever he makes a political decision, we must stand by him. A leader’s decision should be supported, and we stand firm like a rock with him. Whatever decisions he makes in the future, we will be with him.”
On the speculation surrounding Nishant Kumar’s potential entry into the party, Shravan Kumar remarked, “I have previously stated that Nishant Kumar should be brought into the party. His inclusion would bring energy and strength to JD(U). We should expedite his entry, and we will request senior leaders to facilitate this.”
Addressing the discontent among JD(U) workers, he noted that their presence in Patna indicates their dissatisfaction with the decision, as they have traveled from various regions to express their concerns.
Minister Santosh Suman extended his best wishes to Nitish Kumar, emphasizing that this is a personal decision. He stated, “We wish him well; he has served the people of Bihar for 20 years. Wherever he is, he will continue to work for the betterment of Bihar.” With his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, Nitish Kumar is embarking on a new chapter. Suman added, “I have also read the CM’s post. He has served the public, and wherever he goes, he will remain with the people.”
He mentioned that all party legislators are present for a legislative party meeting, which will include some key officials and district presidents. While this is primarily a routine meeting, discussions will also cover recent political developments in Bihar.
