New Delhi, May 18: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted a report on Monday against five minors involved in a case related to espionage linked to Pakistan. This case concerns a terrorist conspiracy aimed at compromising India’s security by surveilling sensitive locations.
The NIA filed its detailed investigation report before the Juvenile Justice Board in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, under relevant sections of the BNS 2023, the Official Secrets Act, and the UA (P) Act.
So far, a total of 21 accused individuals have been arrested in the Ghaziabad espionage case. The matter initially came to light when local police registered a case in March 2026, alleging that solar-powered cameras were installed at sensitive railway station sites, providing live information to suspected terrorists in Pakistan.
Upon taking over the investigation, the NIA discovered that these five minors assisted co-accused individuals in obtaining images and videos of sensitive establishments, along with their precise GPS coordinates. This activity posed a threat to India’s sovereignty, unity, integrity, and security.
Further investigation revealed that the minors illegally infiltrated critical prohibited/sensitive areas, gaining access to install surveillance cameras and actively cooperating in sending sensitive information, including images and videos, to suspected Pakistani terrorists. They also aided these terrorists in acquiring and using Indian SIM cards to carry out terrorist activities on Indian soil. The investigation against the remaining arrested accused and other suspects is ongoing.
