NHPC soars on getting survey license to carry out study of two large hydropower projects

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 40.80, up by 0.90 points or 2.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 39.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 40.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 41.60 and Rs. 39.90 respectively. So far 762332 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 42.70 on 18-Oct-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 27.05 on 29-Mar-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 42.70 and Rs. 37.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 41586.44 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.95%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.17% and 7.88% respectively.

NHPC has received survey license from Investment Board Nepal to carry out a study of two large hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 1200 MW in the Himalayan nation.

The NHPC applied at the IBN for acquiring the study licence for the 750 MW West Seti Reservoir Hydropower Project and 450 MW Seti River – 6 Hydropower Project last month.

The Nepal government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NHPC on August 18, 2022 for the development of the two projects.

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
