NF Railway registers over 54 pc growth in Feb

Guwahati, Mar 21 : North East Frontier Railway has registered a growth in freight loading by more than 54.3 per cent in February 2022 compared to the same period last year. “NF Railway loaded 0.961 MT during February, 2022. This is an increase of 54.3 per cent in comparison to the corresponding period of last year. N. F. Railway loaded 9.183 MT during the period from April, 2021 to February, 2022 as compared to 6.932 MT done in corresponding period of last year. This is an increase of 32.5 per cent,” a statement said. During February 2022, coal loading was increased by 2420 per cent while loading of a few other commodities was also increased by a good margin in NF Railway in comparison to last year. During this year from April 2021 to February 2022, coal loading increased by 34.7 per cent, dolomite loading increased by 180.7 per cent in comparison to the same period of last year. Foodgrains loading increased by 9.4 per cent, fertiliser loading increased by 16.4 per cent, container loading increased by 65 per cent, other commodities increased by 90.8 per cent, and it is an overall increase of 32.5 per cent in comparison to the last year loading up to February 2021, the statement added.
