
Guwahati, May 12: Himanta Biswa Sarma, designated Chief Minister of Assam, announced on Monday the names of four legislators who will take oath as ministers alongside him on Tuesday. Senior BJP leader Ranjit Das has been selected as the NDA candidate for the Speaker position in the Assam Assembly.
Sarma shared the news on social media, revealing that former Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) President Atul Bora, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) leader Charan Boro, and senior BJP leader Ajanta Neog will be sworn in as ministers in the new cabinet.
In his post, Sarma expressed his happiness in announcing that these four colleagues will take their oaths in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
He also confirmed that BJP legislator Ranjit Das will be the NDA’s candidate for the Speaker role in the newly formed Assembly.
Sarma congratulated the leaders, stating that the new team will work together for the development and prosperity of the state. He extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes, emphasizing their commitment to building a stronger, more developed, and prosperous Assam.
The oath-taking ceremony for Assam’s new government will take place on Tuesday in Khanapara, Guwahati, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shah, and several chief ministers and senior NDA leaders from across the country in attendance.
