New Opportunities for Veer Nari: Indian Army and Air India Collaboration in Aviation Sector

New Delhi, August 16: A recent collaboration between the Indian Army and Air India has begun to create solid employment opportunities. Under this initiative, 58 candidates have been selected for jobs from across the country. This includes opportunities for Veer Naris, the brave women associated with the Indian Army, and their dependents. Notably, two women have secured international jobs.

The selected candidates are receiving training for various roles related to aviation and airport services. In the first phase, 16 candidates, including Veer Naris and their children, have completed their training and have been incorporated into the workforce. This partnership between the Indian Army and Air India is not just about providing jobs; it is also a significant step towards offering skill development, training, and self-reliance opportunities for military families.

Through Air India’s subsidiary, Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited, these candidates are being offered employment in various airport-related services. Interviews are being expanded across different regions of the country to select more eligible Veer Naris and their dependents for employment.

Candidates are being trained for essential tasks such as passenger assistance at airports, baggage management, ground services related to aircraft operations, and other relevant functions. The program focuses on equipping candidates with employable skills tailored to industry needs. Additionally, there are plans to develop vocational training facilities in Asha Schools operated with the support of the Indian Army.

These schools focus on the education and welfare of soldiers, veterans, and children with special needs residing in cantonment areas. The initiative aims to establish vocational training labs in 25 Asha Schools. According to the Army, the selection of 58 candidates nationwide is one of the initial achievements of this program. Furthermore, the selection of two female candidates for international positions with Emirates Airlines marks a significant milestone. This initiative is a crucial step in linking the skills, dignity, and self-reliance of military families with new employment opportunities.
