Kolkata, May 9: Suvendu Adhikari is set to take the oath as the first Chief Minister from the BJP in West Bengal on Saturday. Leaders from across the country have been arriving in Kolkata since morning to attend the ceremony. Several NDA leaders have also reached the city for this significant event. Among them are Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Jayant Chaudhary expressed gratitude to the people of West Bengal, stating that the BJP’s victory will strengthen the NDA. He praised the efforts of party workers and grassroots leaders, emphasizing that this achievement is crucial for the entire alliance.
Speaking to the media in Kolkata, Chaudhary remarked, “On this historic occasion, I remember Rabindranath Tagore and express my gratitude to the people of Bengal for their historic mandate. We are hopeful for our important state of Bengal, which can become an economic powerhouse in our country. I extend my congratulations to the BJP and its grassroots workers. This will greatly empower the entire NDA family.”
Additionally, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, have arrived in Kolkata to participate in the oath-taking ceremony.
Other notable attendees include Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Fadnavis shared, “I prayed at the Kali temple. I am very happy that our government is forming.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her joy, saying, “I am very happy for Bengal, for the daughters of Bengal, and for the women of Bengal, who have endured oppression and suppression under the TMC government for 15 long years. But now, the people of Bengal have voted for ‘Sonar Bangla’.”
