NDA Leaders Back PM Modis Call for Fuel Conservation and Caution on Gold Purchases

New Delhi, May 12: NDA leaders have expressed their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens to conserve fuel and refrain from purchasing gold at this time. They emphasized the need to take the Prime Minister’s message seriously amid the ongoing global economic crisis and rising inflation.

Bihar Minister Shrawan Kumar spoke on the matter, stating that excessive use of diesel and petrol significantly contributes to pollution. He praised the Prime Minister’s efforts to raise awareness among the public, urging citizens to adopt measures to reduce fuel consumption and contribute to environmental protection.

Supporting the Prime Minister’s stance on gold purchases, Kumar stressed that citizens should heed this advice seriously.

In Uttar Pradesh, Minister Kailash Singh Rajput commended Prime Minister Modi, calling him one of the world’s great leaders. He described the Prime Minister’s appeal as entirely appropriate and meaningful, urging citizens to demonstrate restraint and responsibility during these challenging global circumstances.

Telangana BJP President N. Ramchandra Rao echoed these sentiments, stating that the Prime Minister has urged citizens to exercise moderation in spending and resource use. He advised farmers to reduce their dependence on fertilizers, limit foreign travel, and avoid unnecessary gold purchases to safeguard the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Ramchandra Rao noted that while the entire world is facing an economic crisis, India has maintained better stability compared to other nations.

He also responded to criticism from opposition leaders, asserting that it is inappropriate for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and the Chief Minister of Telangana to criticize the Prime Minister’s appeal. He reminded them that in 2007, then-Finance Minister P. Chidambaram made a similar appeal to the public amid fears of an economic crisis.

JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad pointed out that major global rating agencies have warned of a potential global recession, which could impact employment, jobs, and development. He emphasized that the world is facing challenges with inflation, urging the public to mentally prepare for upcoming circumstances.

JDU MP Rampreet Mandal expressed his wholehearted support for the Prime Minister’s appeal. He noted that India’s situation is not isolated but part of a global context affected by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Mandal encouraged citizens to adhere to the Prime Minister’s call.
