NDA Leaders Address Rising Fuel Prices Amid Global Challenges

New Delhi, May 15: NDA leaders have attributed the recent increase in diesel and petrol prices to global circumstances. Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav stated that the current international situation has led to rising fuel costs, but the government is making every effort to provide relief to the public.

Regarding the hike in diesel and petrol prices, Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav remarked, “The increase in fuel prices is due to the prevailing global conditions. The government and relevant agencies are working to alleviate the burden on the public. While there is a crisis, and it inevitably affects people, India has petroleum reserves that are being closely monitored. Necessary measures to manage the situation are also under consideration.”

BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi noted, “For several months, there has been ongoing instability due to the global crisis, resulting in a significant rise in crude oil prices. However, the burden on petroleum products has not increased excessively so far. Consequently, the Prime Minister has removed special excise duties and urged the entire nation to reduce petrol and diesel consumption. He has also minimized the use of vehicles in his official convoy and encouraged citizens to adopt similar practices.”

He added, “Previously, the government convened a multi-party meeting on this issue, attended by representatives from all political parties. This global crisis has persisted for several months, with crude oil prices rising significantly. India has shown cooperation and understanding in this matter. Therefore, from day one, the Prime Minister has been taking appropriate steps to manage the situation.”

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana commented, “The international conditions have been quite challenging over the past few months, particularly due to tensions between Iran and the United States, which have impacted the oil market globally. We have seen that even developed countries like the United States have experienced significant increases in crude oil prices. It is a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic vision that, despite these global pressures, fuel prices in India have not surged as dramatically as in other regions.”

He further stated, “Have fuel prices never risen before? Prices have increased rapidly within a single year in the past. It seems as though prices have never increased. Are the current conditions not clear to everyone? This is a matter of ‘Nation First’; it is not just about any party or government.”
