Mumbai, August 12: Anticipation is high for the much-awaited South Indian film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.’ The movie stars Kannada superstar Yash in the lead role, alongside notable actors like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasant, and Huma Qureshi.
The buzz surrounding the film is not just due to its star-studded cast and intriguing storyline, but also the unique working style of director Geetu Mohandas. Recently, actress Nayanthara shared her experience of working with Geetu during the film’s trailer launch event.
Nayanthara expressed, “Many have praised Geetu as a director, but I want to highlight a facet of her personality that often goes unnoticed. Geetu doesn’t just direct actors; she understands their emotions and stands by them during tough times.”
She elaborated, “During the shooting, the cast faced various challenges. Some had good days, while others struggled with difficult scenes. In those moments, Geetu played the role of a strong support system. She was present with us in every situation. This is what sets her apart as a director. She doesn’t see her actors merely as part of the film; she builds an emotional connection with them.”
Nayanthara also recounted an emotional incident from the shoot. She shared, “Once, during filming, Geetu became quite emotional over one of the actors. She couldn’t contain her feelings and stayed with that actor for a while, ensuring they didn’t feel alone.”
When they later inquired about what had transpired, Nayanthara admitted she thought Geetu might have said something she shouldn’t have. However, Geetu calmly replied, “No, I just gave love.”
Nayanthara concluded by stating that Geetu forms a special bond with every actor she works with.
‘Toxic’ is directed by Geetu Mohandas, who co-wrote the story with Yash. The film features a multilingual shoot in Kannada and English, and it has been dubbed in several languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Produced under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, ‘Toxic’ is set to release in theaters on August 26.
