New Delhi, August 26: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated across the country on Wednesday with great reverence and enthusiasm. From early morning, prayers were held in various mosques and shrines, accompanied by grand processions.
In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, thousands gathered at the historic Hazratbal Shrine for morning prayers. A special prayer session was organized at the shrine, where attendees prayed for peace and brotherhood in the nation.
In Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, a magnificent procession commenced from Gandhi Maidan, traversing several neighborhoods. Members of the Muslim community participated in large numbers, waving flags and chanting praises of the Prophet.
In Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, authorities implemented strict security measures for the procession. Police and PAC personnel were deployed, and CCTV cameras and drones monitored sensitive areas. In Varanasi, security was heightened for the Barawafat celebrations, with additional forces stationed in crowded areas. The procession will travel from Rewdi Talab to Beniyabag.
Imam Saud Alam Mukhtari from Varanasi stated, “Masha Allah, Barawafat or Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is a significant occasion for us Muslims. It can be termed as the ‘Eid of Eids.’ It conveys messages of humanity and peace, teaching us how to live as humans, care for our neighbors, and maintain peace.”
In Rampur, the festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and tranquility. Large processions were held throughout the district, attended by thousands, including religious scholars, who prayed for the nation’s security and welfare.
In Ajmer, Rajasthan, a grand procession was organized from the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, featuring a large number of devotees, including children, youth, and the elderly. The procession included floats and songs, with food and water distributed along the route. After passing through several areas, it concluded at Fountain Chowk. In Bikaner, the procession began near Sheetla Gate in Damami Mohalla and reached the Merchant’s neighborhood, where participants pledged to promote peace, brotherhood, and harmony.
In Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, a grand procession stretched nearly two kilometers, featuring recitations of Naats, fireworks, and the distribution of sweets.
In Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu, a splendid procession was held in Elanthangudi, where hundreds of Muslim schoolchildren participated, singing religious songs as they moved through the village streets. The procession concluded at Masjid Rahmat, where elders distributed biscuits, chocolates, and other gifts to the students.
