Nation celebrates 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as National Unity Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sardar Patel at the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Kevadiya, Gujarat Thursday morning. Later, he administered a pledge on national unity to a large gathering. The Prime Minister also witnessed the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade’ by personnel of Gujarat Police and central armed forces.

The birth anniversary of Sardar Patel is observed as the National Unity Day. The day will be marked by parades and drills by school students from across India on the theme Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat.

State police forces and central forces took part in the Ekta Diwas parade.

During his Kevadia visit, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Technology Demonstration Site and later interact with Civil Service Probationers at at ‘Aarambh’ in Kevadiya.

Meanwhile President Ram Nath Kovind, Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri paid tributes to Sardar Patel at his statue at Patel Chowk in the national Capital.
