Jaipur, August 22: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that nation building is a collective effort. Speaking on Saturday, he highlighted the crucial roles of citizens, NGOs, and social institutions in this national mission.
During the foundation stone-laying ceremony at the Maheshwari Ayurveda Science and Research Center, Birla stated that contributions to society and the nation should not always be measured economically. They can also manifest as hard work, dedication, professional skills, knowledge, and selfless service.
Referencing the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, Birla reminded the audience that India draws immense strength from its collective social consciousness and the age-old tradition of caring for one another.
He noted that collective responsibility, compassion, and the eternal Indian ideal of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ provide moral strength and resilience to society, enabling it to overcome even the toughest circumstances.
Birla congratulated the Maheshwari community in Jaipur for initiating a new and significant chapter in their enduring journey of serving humanity through the establishment of the institution.
He remarked on the glorious and inspiring legacy of service, sacrifice, dedication, and social responsibility that the Maheshwari community has upheld—one that has illuminated society and inspired generations.
Recalling the community’s historical contributions to education, Birla noted that as early as 1926, visionary members of the Maheshwari community recognized education as the foundation of an enlightened, cultured, and progressive society.
Even when resources were limited and challenges were immense, they came forward with extraordinary commitment, pooling their resources and energy to establish schools and educational institutions.
Birla further stated that the Maheshwari community also played a significant role in India’s freedom movement, promoting the immortal spirit of sacrifice and patriotism associated with the revered Bhamashah.
