
Patna, May 19: The renowned Nalanda University held its third graduation ceremony on Tuesday at its expansive campus in Rajgir, Bihar. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra, and senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, as 219 students from 14 countries received their degrees.
During the ceremony held in the Vishwamitralaya auditorium, degrees were awarded to 219 students, with eight receiving gold medals. Notably, female students excelled, with seven out of the eight gold medalists being women.
P.K. Mishra expressed pride in Nalanda’s historical legacy, calling it one of the foremost centers of education. He stated, “I am very impressed by Nalanda. It has a long history and a rich heritage. It was one of the great centers of learning. Now, we are set to build a similar educational hub that attracts talent from around the world.”
The 2024-26 graduation ceremony marked a significant educational milestone for this prestigious institution, awarding degrees to students from countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
The event also highlighted the recently concluded ‘Shastrarth 2026,’ where winners were honored, and the inauguration of the Kautilya Capacity Building Center took place just nine days after the examinations.
This program once again showcased Nalanda’s legacy as a global center for knowledge, dialogue, and interdisciplinary education.
Several international students shared their experiences and learnings from the university. Kapila Swapna, a student of Ecology and Environmental Studies, remarked, “This is an incredibly beautiful campus. I encourage all students pursuing their master’s courses to enroll here and receive guidance from the faculty’s excellent academic talent while enjoying the environment of Nalanda.”
Other students echoed similar sentiments, highlighting Nalanda University’s vast educational heritage and the high standards of education that set them apart from their peers.
