Mumbai, April 24: A shocking incident has emerged from Mumbai, Maharashtra. A 19-year-old Hindu woman has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her senior colleague at the Agri Pada police station. She alleges that the accused, a man from a specific community, sent her obscene chats and videos, prompting her to seek legal action. The police have taken the matter seriously and arrested the suspect.
In her complaint, the woman stated that she worked as a telecaller for a well-known company in the Mahalaxmi area of Mumbai. On April 21, her senior, Ashraf Siddiqui, called her on WhatsApp. Since she did not have his number saved, she inquired about his identity. He introduced himself as a colleague from the same company, claiming he obtained her number from the company’s WhatsApp group.
The woman accused Ashraf of sending her obscene photos and videos via WhatsApp, along with inappropriate comments. To protect herself, she took screenshots of all his messages and saved the videos and photos as evidence. On April 22, Ashraf repeated his actions and pressured her to enter into a romantic relationship.
After informing her family, the victim filed an FIR with the police. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, authorities traced Ashraf’s location and arrested him on Thursday night. They also confiscated his phone. According to the FIR, Ashraf admitted to having done the same with other Hindu women in the workplace.
Following the FIR, the victim and her father spoke to local media. The victim stated, “Ashraf harassed me by sending filthy messages and videos. He also claimed we would get married. My uncle has one Hindu wife and two Muslim wives.”
The victim’s father expressed concern, saying, “For three days, my daughter endured mental harassment. She was troubled by obscene videos and messages. The accused suggested taking her to a lodge. All involved worked as telecallers in a well-known company in Mahalaxmi. Ashraf told my daughter that he had done this with many Hindu girls and would do the same with her without any issue. Given the current atmosphere, we decided to file the FIR.”
Local resident Ravindra Dabholkar commented, “These individuals with a jihadist mentality are conspiring. We had been trying to trap Ashraf, who sent obscene photos and videos to the girl, but he evaded us. Thankfully, the police have arrested him.”
