Mumbai University UG, PG Admissions 2025 Begin: ABC ID Now Mandatory for Pre-Registration
Two-Phase Registration Process Implemented for 2025–26 Academic Year
MUMBAI — The University of Mumbai has officially opened the pre-registration process for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admissions for the 2025–26 academic session. Applicants looking to pursue courses in arts, commerce, science, engineering, and management in colleges affiliated with the university must now complete the initial steps of admission online.
As per the latest University Grants Commission (UGC) directives, all applicants must generate an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID at abc.gov.in before initiating their pre-registration. This requirement, introduced in 2023, is now a mandatory component of the application process for all college admissions across India.
Mumbai University Admissions 2025: Two-Phase Process Explained
The UG and PG admission process will occur in two phases:
Degree Level | Pre-Registration Timeline | Final Registration Timeline |
---|---|---|
UG | Before Class 12 results | After Class 12 results |
PG | Before third-year results | After third-year results |
This phased system allows candidates to initiate the process before their results are declared, ensuring timely admission post-declaration.
