Mumbai Massage Therapist Assaults Client After Booking Cancellation, Video Goes Viral

Mumbai’s Wadala area witnessed a disturbing incident that has sparked widespread attention on social media. A female massage therapist, hired through the Urban Company app, has been accused of physically assaulting a woman client after the latter cancelled the booking. The victim has filed a complaint with the police, and a video of the altercation is circulating rapidly online.

The victim, a 46-year-old woman residing in Wadala with her son, had booked a massage session via the Urban Company app to relieve her frozen shoulder pain. The therapist arrived on time but the victim felt uncomfortable due to the therapist’s conduct and the large massage bed she brought along. She decided to cancel the session and initiated the refund process.

According to the victim, the therapist became angry and began verbally abusing her. The situation escalated to physical violence, with the therapist reportedly pulling the victim’s hair, punching her face, scratching her, and pushing her to the ground. When the victim’s son intervened, he too was pushed and shoved.

The victim immediately called the police helpline (100). By the time police arrived, the therapist had fled the scene. Following this, the victim lodged a written complaint at Wadala police station. The police have registered a non-cognisable offence and have started an investigation.

During the probe, it was revealed that the Urban Company app initially had some technical issues related to the therapist’s identity verification, which were later resolved. The viral video clearly shows the therapist’s aggressive behaviour, further intensifying public concern. The incident has raised questions about the safety and verification procedures of services offered through such apps.

The Wadala police are actively searching for the therapist and conducting a thorough inquiry. Urban Company has not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter. The victim has expressed that she is physically and mentally distressed and is hopeful for justice. Police have assured that the accused will be apprehended soon and appropriate action will be taken.
