Greater Noida, 13 December. On Saturday morning, dense fog on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway led to major road accidents at two different locations, involving multiple vehicles colliding due to severely reduced visibility.
The first accident occurred near Chakrasenpur flyover in the Dadri police station area, where three vehicles collided amid thick fog. The second and more serious accident took place near the Samadhipur flyover, where over a dozen vehicles crashed one after another. The impact was so strong that many vehicles were badly damaged.
Several people, including a woman, were injured in the accidents and were immediately taken to nearby hospitals with the help of ambulances. Following the incidents, chaos ensued on the expressway, causing a traffic jam stretching several kilometres.
Police and toll plaza management teams promptly reached the scene. Displaying quick response, the police used cranes provided by toll management to remove damaged vehicles from the highway. They also managed traffic to gradually clear the congestion.
Authorities appealed to travellers to remain patient and maintain safe distances. According to police officials, the dense fog on 13 December 2025 severely limited visibility, which led to these accidents. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
The condition of all injured persons is stable and they are undergoing treatment. Traffic on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway was disrupted for some time but was later restored to normal with police efforts.
The police are conducting further legal proceedings regarding the matter. The administration has urged drivers to avoid unnecessary travel during dense fog, drive at reduced speeds, use fog lights, and maintain safe distances to prevent such accidents in the future.
