MS Dhoni Faces Traffic Violation Fine in Ranchi

Ranchi, March 4: Former captain of the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni, is in the news due to a traffic violation incident. The traffic police in Ranchi have imposed a fine of ₹1,000 on Dhoni for overspeeding.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the Kanke area of Ranchi. Traffic surveillance cameras recorded Dhoni’s car exceeding the speed limit. Consequently, an e-challan was issued against him under the Motor Vehicle Act. The vehicle involved is reported to be a black Mercedes.

Traffic department officials stated that the rules apply equally to all citizens, whether they are ordinary individuals or public figures. As of now, neither Dhoni nor his representatives have provided an official response regarding the matter.

Dhoni is often seen driving luxury cars in his hometown of Ranchi. His collection includes vehicles like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Trackhawk, Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, and several superbikes.

In addition to this traffic issue, Dhoni is also in the spotlight for another reason. The Jharkhand State Housing Board has issued a show-cause notice to him. This notice pertains to the alleged commercial use of a residential plot, HIG-10/A, located in the Harmu Housing Colony of Ranchi. Officials claim that the plot was allocated solely for residential purposes, yet recent information suggests that a pathology lab is being operated from there.

The board has requested Dhoni to provide a written explanation within 15 days. Both incidents have sparked considerable discussion among sports enthusiasts and fans.

Dhoni is also making headlines regarding IPL 2026. Millions of fans worldwide are eager to see him back on the field. However, reports indicate that Dhoni may not participate in all matches of the season.
