Chennai, May 12: MK Stalin, President of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), along with his son Udhayanidhi Stalin, congratulated JCD Prabhakar on being elected as the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly and Ravishankar as the Deputy Speaker. MK Stalin emphasized that both leaders should conduct the assembly proceedings fairly while upholding its traditions and dignity.
In a post on his social media account, X, MK Stalin stated, “JCD Prabhakar has been elected as the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, and Thiru. Ravishankar has been chosen as the Deputy Speaker. My heartfelt congratulations to both.”
He added, “These two individuals, who hold such esteemed positions and have been honored by prominent figures, must maintain the tradition and dignity of the assembly. In the Legislative Assembly, the number of members from other parties exceeds that of the ruling party. This is the decision of the people! I believe that both of these respected individuals will guide the assembly in a manner that ensures respect and amplifies the voices of opposition parties.”
Udhayanidhi Stalin also took to social media to congratulate JCD Prabhakar on his election as Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He remarked, “Heartfelt congratulations to JCD Prabhakar on being elected as the Speaker and to Ravishankar on being elected as the Deputy Speaker. You both have taken on responsibilities that have been held by great personalities in the past. I hope you will uphold those traditions and the dignity of the assembly.”
He continued, “In this assembly, the combined strength of members from other parties exceeds that of the ruling party. This is the mandate given by the public!
