Mithun Chakrabortys Dream of a Football Academy in Bengal Takes Shape

Kolkata, May 16: BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty is set to realize a long-held dream. The establishment of the Bengal Football Academy marks a significant step towards fulfilling his vision that has been 15 years in the making. Nisith Pramanik, a minister in the West Bengal BJP government, expressed strong support for this initiative on Friday.

Pramanik stated, “Mithun Da is not just a major figure in Bollywood. He is a huge football fan and has been a skilled footballer himself. It is a matter of pride for us that such a prominent personality wants to contribute to Bengal’s beloved sport, football. Mithun Da is still eager to do a lot for the game.”

Mithun Chakraborty shared, “The Bengal Football Academy has been my dream for the past 15 years. However, the previous TMC government did not allow me to pursue it. Everything I wanted to do was blocked. Now that our government is in place and we have capable ministers, I informed them that I want to restart this project.”

He also highlighted his political efforts, saying, “I have been working tirelessly for the past five years. I visited small villages, roads, and lanes, held meetings, all to promote the lotus symbol. Our sole aim was to unite everyone under one roof.”

Meanwhile, Pramanik mentioned the new government’s swift actions regarding the RG Kar issue, stating, “It has not even been seven days since we came to power. The public movement regarding RG Kar is what led to the formation of the BJP government. Now, actions are being initiated one after another. This is just the beginning; stay tuned for more.”

Both Mithun Chakraborty and Nisith Pramanik appeared enthusiastic about elevating football in Bengal. Local football enthusiasts are welcoming this initiative.
