Missile attack on US consulate in Iraq’s Erbil came from Iran

Baghdad, March 13 ( /Sputnik) A dozen ballistic missiles were launched on Erbil from Iran, a US official said. The official did not provide further details on the launch. Earlier, Shafaq News reported citing an Iraqi security source that multiple rockets landed near the US consulate and the Kurdistan 24 TV station in Erbil late on Saturday night. Rudaw reported on Twitter citing Kurdistan’s counter terrorism authorities that twelve missiles were used in the Erbil attack, which came from the east and originated from outside Iraq. The US State Department told Rudaw that no casualties or damage to US government facilities occurred as a result of the attack.
