New Delhi, 2 January. The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune may host some home matches of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2026 season.

Earlier in November, it was reported that Rajasthan Royals and the defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were considering the Gahunje venue as their home ground for IPL 2026. Rajasthan Royals had visited the stadium and inspected its facilities.

According to sources, Pune is more likely to become Rajasthan Royals’ new home venue, replacing Jaipur, which has been the team’s home ground since the inception of IPL in 2008. A deal between MCA and Rajasthan Royals is close to finalisation. The decision to shift some home matches away from Jaipur is reportedly due to ongoing differences with the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

The tension increased in IPL 2025 when an RCA official accused the franchise of match-fixing, which Rajasthan Royals firmly denied and demanded strict action against the individual involved. RCA is currently managed by an ad hoc committee led by Din Dayal Kumawat, and the unsettled situation is believed to be a significant reason for Rajasthan Royals choosing to play some home games in Pune.

Information suggests that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may announce this decision soon.

The MCA Stadium in Pune has hosted international matches, including games during the 2023 ODI World Cup. In the IPL, it has previously served as the home ground for Pune Warriors India and Rising Pune Supergiant.

In recent seasons, Rajasthan Royals have also played some home matches at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
