Rampur, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Rampur’s Maulana Mohammad Jameel Hayat has voiced strong criticism regarding the Congress party’s ability to establish a government in Uttar Pradesh. Amid rising tensions between Congress and the Samajwadi Party, he stated that Congress does not possess the strength to succeed independently.
In an interview, Maulana Hayat remarked, “Congress will never be able to form a government in Uttar Pradesh. They lack the capability to win on their own. While anyone can make claims, the reality is that Congress cannot secure victory alone.”
Responding to Congress MP Imran Masood’s assertion that the Samajwadi Party would achieve little, Maulana Hayat expressed concern that such statements undermine the political influence of Muslims. He emphasized the necessity of collaboration among all communities for effective political engagement. “Sometimes, Imran Masood makes very strong statements that we do not agree with,” he added.
Additionally, he criticized Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi’s demand for a Muslim candidate for Chief Minister under the slogan “equal rights for equal population.” Hayat disagreed, stating, “I do not support his statement. Regardless of the party, Muslims in India deserve their rights peacefully and respectfully. Such statements can incite unrest, and we should avoid making such remarks.”
Maulana Hayat further argued that unrealistic demands do not benefit the Muslim community. He noted that Hindu leaders often work diligently for the welfare of all citizens, including Muslims. “It’s not true that Hindu leaders ignore our concerns. They listen to us and show us love,” he said.
Overall, he views Razvi’s comments as divisive and counterproductive, reflecting a sectarian mindset rather than a constructive approach to unity and cooperation.
