New Delhi, May 18: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to save fuel and reduce petrol and diesel consumption by traveling in an electric auto and later using the metro on Monday.
In a post on social media platform X, Tiwari shared that, under the Metro Monday initiative led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, he traveled with Chahal using an electric auto and the Delhi Metro. During the journey, they interacted with fellow passengers to gather their experiences and suggestions. Additionally, they inaugurated a 50% discount scheme on EV parking fees to promote clean energy and electric vehicles. This initiative marks a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal also posted on X, stating that he traveled with MP Manoj Tiwari under the Metro Monday initiative. He emphasized the importance of engaging with fellow passengers to understand their experiences and thoughts. Furthermore, he announced the implementation of a 50% discount on parking fees for electric vehicles to encourage the use of clean energy.
In line with this initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta mentioned in a post on X that all public representatives are striving to contribute to the nation’s interests in response to PM Modi’s call for fuel conservation.
Chief Minister Gupta walked from the Chief Minister’s Service House to the Raj Niwas to meet Lieutenant Governor Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu. They discussed the “Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdaan” campaign run by the Delhi government. She urged all Delhi residents to contribute to fuel conservation, pollution control, and national interests by adopting metro, bus, and carpooling wherever possible. The use of public transport was highlighted under the Metro Monday initiative.
