Kolkata, April 27: In West Bengal, the second phase of voting will take place on April 29 across 142 seats. The election campaign for this phase came to a close on Monday, with leaders from various political parties holding vigorous rallies and roadshows throughout the day.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari conducted roadshows and public meetings in several constituencies, urging voters to support BJP candidates. In an interview with a news agency, he expressed confidence that the people of Bengal have decided that the next government will be formed by the BJP, aiming to oust the TMC from power.
Tiwari emphasized that this election is crucial for saving West Bengal. He noted that the enthusiasm displayed by the public during the roadshows is a testament to BJP’s impending victory.
He stated that the era of fear in Bengal is coming to an end, paving the way for a government built on trust. According to Tiwari, the BJP will provide the people of Bengal with all the amenities that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has denied them.
Regarding the upcoming voting, Tiwari claimed that the turnout in the second phase would surpass the record set in the first phase. He thanked the Election Commission for conducting fair elections, which has encouraged voters to approach polling stations without fear.
In the first phase, a remarkable turnout was recorded across 152 seats, with over 90% of voters participating. Various parties praised the voters for their engagement, while some claimed the turnout favored them.
Several BJP leaders asserted that the public has voted in their favor, predicting over 100 seats won in the first phase and a clear majority in the second phase.
Conversely, TMC MP Mahua Moitra claimed that they surpassed 100 seats in the first phase and are optimistic about winning even more in the second phase to secure an overall majority.
