New Delhi, April 15: Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha extended his congratulations to Samrat Chaudhary following his swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Bihar. In a conversation, Jha expressed his best wishes, noting that more than half of Chaudhary’s political career has been associated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Jha emphasized Chaudhary’s extensive experience, mentioning that he has worked with all political parties in Bihar, except for the Left. He urged that this experience should be utilized to ensure Bihar is not treated like a colony. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has previously highlighted the challenges facing Bihar, including the aspirations of its youth and women, as well as the opinions of the common people. Jha stressed that, regardless of pressure, justice and harmony must not be compromised.
Regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, Jha questioned whether anyone opposes it, as it was passed in 2023. He mentioned that parties like his have advocated for a quota within a quota. He also expressed uncertainty about Mayawati’s stance on the matter and noted that there is currently no draft on delimitation.
Jha commented on the geopolitical situation, stating that Pakistan has been mediating between the U.S., Israel, and Iran. While no results have emerged, he noted that this does not imply an escalation in warfare. Both sides are aware of the global implications of this conflict, which is also affecting us. He asserted that no country is safe, making peace initiatives crucial.
On the formation of the new government in Bihar, Union Minister Nityanand Rai remarked that Samrat Chaudhary has taken the oath of office as Chief Minister, alongside two cabinet members, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav. He affirmed that Bihar will progress under the guidance of Nitish Kumar.
Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar praised Chaudhary for his organizational and governance experience. He noted that Chaudhary has performed commendably and that under his leadership, the government will implement initiatives for farmers, youth, women, and the poor. Bihar will contribute to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’ and ‘Self-Reliant India’.
