Jalna, September 1: The hunger strike led by Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange entered its fourth day on Tuesday. As he continues to protest, regular medical checks are being conducted on his health. During these checks, varying blood sugar readings have emerged, prompting Jarange to raise questions and demand an investigation.
He stated that he does not harbor direct doubts about the doctors but insists that the fluctuations in his blood sugar levels must be clearly explained.
According to Jarange, his blood sugar level was 94 before the hunger strike began. On the second day, it dropped to 66. However, subsequent tests showed readings of 72 and then 80. Jarange questioned how his blood sugar could decrease and then increase in such a manner.
He remarked, “If my blood sugar fell to 66, how did it rise to 72 and then 80?” He has requested clarification from the medical team regarding this entire process. He emphasized that there should be no ambiguity or confusion in this matter, and the investigation must be conducted transparently.
Jarange has also demanded that modern medical equipment be brought to the protest site for health checks. He stated that if anyone doubts his health or blood sugar readings, they should be tested using advanced machines right there at the venue.
While raising concerns about the fluctuating blood sugar levels, Jarange also questioned whether there might be a government conspiracy behind it. However, he clarified that he does not directly suspect the doctors. He believes that given the circumstances, every aspect must be clear.
He urged the doctors to bring in modern machines for immediate testing if they have any doubts, aiming for complete transparency in the matter. Jarange reiterated that his movement continues to advocate for the demands of the Maratha community and that he will not back down.
In response to Jarange’s concerns, the doctors conducting his medical checks provided clarification on the changing blood sugar readings. They explained that variations in blood sugar levels at different times are normal. Fluctuations within a short interval should not be considered abnormal.
The medical team discussed the issue with Jarange and addressed his concerns. They clarified that changes in blood sugar levels from 66 to 72 and then to 80 can occur based on the timing of the tests and the body’s condition.
