Mumbai, June 2: The new mythological television series ‘Veers of Hastinapur’ is making waves in the TV industry. The show aims to depict the early stages of the epic Mahabharata. Veteran actor Manish Wadhwa takes on the iconic role of Bhishma Pitamah. In a recent interview, he shared his experiences working with the young cast and how a unique bond has formed between them on set.
During the conversation, Wadhwa expressed, “When I began shooting for the show, I had no idea that the character I portray on screen would influence real-life relationships. Bhishma Pitamah is one of the most revered and guiding figures in the Mahabharata. Interestingly, the child actors playing the Pandavas and Kauravas have started to see me in that same light.”
He added, “Throughout the shooting, I realized that my relationship with the children is not just that of co-stars; it has evolved into one resembling that of a mentor and guide.”
Reflecting on his experiences, Wadhwa noted, “What impresses me the most is these children’s eagerness to learn. Even at such a young age, they take their roles very seriously. They strive to understand every scene, constantly ask questions, and want to know the significance of each moment. This level of curiosity and dedication at such a young age is remarkable and will undoubtedly make them better artists in the future.”
He continued, “During breaks, all the artists gather together. They discuss stories from the Mahabharata, characters, and fascinating anecdotes. Sometimes, these discussions become so engaging that everyone gets completely absorbed. There’s also plenty of laughter and fun on set.”
Wadhwa shared that many young actors now call him ‘Pitamah’ off-screen. “When the children refer to me by that name, it brings me immense joy. It’s a way of showing respect and affection. This relationship is incredibly special to me, and I consider it one of the beautiful memories of my career.”
The show ‘Veers of Hastinapur’ airs on Sony SAB.
