Baghpat, August 11: Maninderjeet Singh Bitta, Chairman of the All Indian Anti-Terrorist Front, has come to the defense of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in response to the Congress party’s calls for his resignation. He highlighted significant actions taken by the government, such as the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Temple, and military actions against terrorism following the Pahalgam attack. Bitta emphasized that national security and the interests of the nation should take precedence over political agendas.
Bitta stated that it is inappropriate to demand the resignation of a Prime Minister who has removed Article 370, which previously led to ongoing violence and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, affecting both soldiers and civilians. He questioned those who prioritize political interests over the nation’s welfare, asserting that the nation must come first.
He noted that the construction of the Ram Temple occurred without violence or riots, and he described the removal of Article 370 as a significant step towards strengthening the country. He stressed the necessity of eradicating terrorism and praised the government’s actions under Modi’s leadership, particularly the destruction of terrorist camps in Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident. Bitta linked these developments to a transformed India, capable of responding effectively to terrorism.
Bitta also referenced a potential bomb plot in Delhi, suggesting that if an explosion had occurred at Jantar Mantar, political parties would have blamed the central government. Thanks to the vigilance of the Delhi police and central intelligence agencies, such incidents have been prevented. He recounted his experiences with terrorism, urging today’s generation to understand the past when many soldiers lost their lives and families were devastated by terrorist attacks.
He challenged political parties to compare the security situation of India today with that of a decade ago, claiming that conditions have improved significantly, along with a reduction in the circumstances surrounding the martyrdom of soldiers.
Bitta clarified that Prime Minister Modi’s efforts are not solely for Hindutva but for the betterment of India as a whole. He identified himself as a former supporter of Congress, emphasizing that his admiration for Modi’s actions stems from their alignment with national interests.
Addressing separatist demands, Bitta firmly stated that any attempt to divide India cannot be accepted. He referred to the Khalistan movement in Punjab, asserting that the unity and integrity of the nation are paramount. While individuals can protest and express their demands, he insisted that the nation’s unity must never be compromised.
