
In a thrilling contest at DY Patil Sports Academy, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured an emphatic eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 11th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. This victory strengthened RCB’s position at the top of the points table.
Delhi Capitals Fall Short After Promising Start
After losing the toss, Delhi Capitals were put into bat but struggled early, losing four wickets for just 10 runs. However, a resilient partnership between Shafali Verma and Nikki Prasad steadied the innings. The duo added 59 runs off 35 balls for the fifth wicket, taking the score to 69.
Nikki contributed 12 runs from 14 balls before getting out, but Shafali continued to anchor the innings. She forged further partnerships of 34 runs with Sneh Rana and 22 runs with Lucy Hamilton, pushing the team to a total of 166 runs. Shafali scored a valuable 62 runs off 41 balls, including 4 sixes and 5 fours. Lucy Hamilton and Sneh Rana added 36 and 22 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Lauren Bell and Saiyli Satghare picked up three wickets each, while Prema Rawat took two.
RCB’s Chase Powered by Mandhana and Georgia
In response, RCB reached the target comfortably in 18.2 overs despite an early setback when Grace Harris was dismissed for 1 run in the 2.1 over. Captain Smriti Mandhana then took charge, forming a commanding 142-run partnership with Georgia Voll for the second wicket off 91 balls.
Mandhana narrowly missed out on a century, finishing unbeaten on 96 runs from 61 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 13 fours. Georgia played a steady innings, remaining unbeaten on 54 runs from 42 balls, and guided RCB to victory with 10 balls to spare.
