Kolhapur, Mar 5 : A court here on Saturday sentenced a 49-year-old man to life imprisonment for murder of his neighbour in April 2017. Public prosecutor Amit Mahadeshwar told the court that on April 21, 2017, there was a quarrel between accused and his sister-in-law on a family dispute, at that time, their neighbour came and tried to resolve it. But accused enraged over his neighbour’s interference stabbed him with a sharp knife and injured him. Seriously injured Sandeep Sakharam Bread (35) was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed during medical treatment. After examining total 17 witnesses, Additional Sessions Judge B D Shelke convicted accused Prasanna alias Balu alias Bali Sajjan Sathe, resident of Mantag Vasahat in Rajarampuri area of the city, under section 302 of Indian Penal Code and awarded him life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Sathe, it was stated. SSS SS 1801
