New Delhi, February 18: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has responded to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statements, asserting that she, like other opposition leaders, is preparing excuses ahead of a potential defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.

In an interview in New Delhi, Khandelwal remarked that Banerjee has developed a habit of engaging in blame politics, similar to other opposition parties. He noted that her governance in West Bengal over the past five years has faced significant criticism. Given the looming possibility of her government being ousted, she is laying the groundwork for justifications.

Regarding the Maharashtra government’s decision to revoke the 5% Muslim quota, Khandelwal questioned the necessity of reservations. He emphasized that reservations should be allocated to those genuinely in need, regardless of their community. He believes that individuals with resources, irrespective of their background, should not benefit from reservations.

Khandelwal also stated that there should be no place for infiltrators in the country, as they exploit national resources excessively, leaving a large segment of society deprived.

Commenting on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about the AI summit, Khandelwal described Gandhi as politically irrelevant, suggesting that his focus has shifted solely to creating controversies and making baseless statements. He highlighted that the ongoing AI summit in Delhi is built on the foundation laid by Prime Minister Modi’s Digital India campaign initiated on July 1, 2015. The success of this initiative is now evident at the AI summit.

He further explained that this summit represents not just an event but a significant next step in India’s digital journey, where AI is being utilized to bring swift, transparent, and beneficial changes across sectors such as business, industry, education, health, agriculture, startups, logistics, and governance. Today, the world is witnessing India not just as a technology adopter but as a leader in technology.
